Games

The games strand fosters a child’s natural tendency to play through informal play activities. It enhances the development of basic skills, and many opportunities are provided for social interaction. Playground games, co-operative games and games traditional to our school are considered when planning our games programme.

Together with our classroom teachers, Mícheál Quirke, our G.A.A. Coach, provides fun and lively co-operative games every fortnight. The emphasis is on every child taking part but our pupils do tend to pick up some G.A.A. skills along the way!!!

We also have lots of budding Rory McIlroys here at Clogher NS…yes we’ve gotten the Golf bug! In the second term our pupils get the opportunity to try their hand at Golf. For many, it’s the first time they pick up a golf club but, judging by our lessons, it certainly won’t be their last! Watch this space!
